CO2 laser

Omtech 60w CO2 laser

In 2024, I bought this 60w CO2 laser from Omtech. This machine makes it possible to cut and engrave a large set of different materials, like wood and acrylic, in a relative short time span. For example, cutting acrylic is not possible with the diode laser and it takes more time to cut acrylic with a CNC, because you need to clamp the material (best way to do that is with the superglue method btw) and have the correct parameter settings (speeds/feeds) to avoid melting.

This machine is controlled by the well-known LightBurn software.
